Recycling In Schools

In addition to paper recycling and composting of all food waste in the cafeteria, Bryker Woods also has vermiculture composting bins in three classrooms (“vermi” means “wormy,” but has a much lower  “eeeew”-factor), a rainwater collection system for the school’s gardens, and small recycling projects for batteries, toners and ink cartridges and candy bar wrappers.

Back to school special: The three Rs revisited

 

What a great way to teach kids about natural recycling and do something good for the earth.
