The second proven commercial operation that uses manure, along with other silage spoilage, is vermicomposting. The largest vermicomposting facility in the Western Hemisphere is in the FLR. It produces 2.5 million pounds of the highest grade certified organic compost annually, with an estimated value of $5 million to $7 million.
