With indoor worm composting, or vermicomposting, a worm habitat is created in a bin with 8 to 10 inches of shredded moist newspaper as bedding. Fruit and vegetable peelings are buried under the newspaper. Then worms, which must be red wigglers, are added to create a fertilizer by eating the newspaper and food scraps.
